29TH ANNUAL

MASSILLON CRUISE ON IN & DANCE PARTY

SATURDAY JUNE 16, 2018

“Ohio’s Largest Car Show”

Ohio’s Largest Car Show” will possibly also become “Ohio’s Greatest Music Festival” Saturday, June 16th when tens of thousands make their annual pilgrimage to Ohio’s nostalgia capital, Downtown Massillon, Ohio.

The 29th Annual Cruise-On-In & Dance Party will feature its traditional menu of hundreds of classic, antique and custom cars, trucks and motorcycles from throughout Ohio and surrounding states. The juried show will award some forty-nine trophies, including the Progressive Chevrolet “Best of Show.”

Greatest Entertainment Lineup Ever

The Cruise will also feature a record number of tribute acts, featuring some of the most popular bands of all-time, spanning four decades. As in past years, the entertainment will be showcased on two professional stages.

The Mr. Tire Main Stage will be headlined by Ohio-based

Eagles Tribute

Out of Eden Ohio

8:00pm

The group recently sold out the Mapleside Farms concert barn, and puts to good use well-seasoned veterans of the Ohio music scene, led by lead guitarist and Joe Walsh clone Ron White.  “I was at the show a few months ago, and was amazed at the size and enthusiasm of the crowd,” remembered Ray Jeske, Cruise Director for some twenty-seven years.  “We’re pretty selective, choosing only the top tribute acts around the region and even the country.  Halfway through their opening song, I knew we’d be crazy not to bring them to Massillon,” concluded Jeske.  Out of Eden also performs the hits of legendary guitarist and Ohio-native Joe Walsh.

Opening act on the main stage is Steely Dan Tribute The FM Project

5:00pm

The FM Project is a nine-piece ensemble out of Cleveland. “This is a dream come true for all Steely Dan lovers.  I’m amazed that any one dared to undertake such sophisticated and complex music,” said Jeske.

Having a tribute to Elvis on the MassMu East Stage has been a staple of the Cruise for many years, but to also have tributes to the Beatles and Patsy Cline on that stage breaks new ground, much like the museum itself!

The Liverpool Lads are one of the most authentic representations of the Fab Four that I’ve ever seen,” said Jeske, “and Logan Wells, with her tribute to Patsy Cline, has headlined in Vegas,” explained Jeske.

Rounding out this largest and arguably greatest entertainment lineup in Cruise history will be appearances by popular local band Visinata, and Celebration, an oldies cover band that has performed at car cruises throughout northern Ohio.

Audience participation traditions like the Buffalo Wild Wings Eating Contest, and the Shearer’s Chip off the Old Block Look-a-like Contest, where father-son and mother-daughter contestants vie for prizes, will continue this year.

With respect to the car show, the entry and competition rules governing The Chevy Network and Progressive Chevrolet Car Show, and the other special features of the 29th Annual Cruise-On-In & Dance Party will be released as final details are completed.
